Do you come to my marina, or do I have to move the boat?
We travel to marinas throughout Seminole and FL, so your boat can stay in its slip or on its mooring. Mobilisation is quoted separately from the dive day rate and covers the crew's travel, the dive trailer, and any local access fees. When comparing bids, look at the mobilisation line—it, not the hourly rate, is usually the reason one quote runs much higher than another.
How is recurring hull, anode, and running-gear service priced?
Commercial diving is quoted as a crew/spread day rate plus mobilisation. The day rate includes the dive supervisor, divers, standby diver, and topside equipment; inspection work is often per structure or per substructure unit. For a recurring plan, you'll pay the day rate each visit plus a flat mobilisation, and the contractor should itemise both so you can benchmark against a haul-out bid.
What will you send me after the work is done?
Within 48 hours you'll receive a written service report with photos, anode-consumption readings, and a recommended service schedule. The dive supervisor's log is kept on file to document the crew's duties and compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart T, and you'll get a simple invoice that separates the dive spread from the mobilisation.
Should I schedule this in the water or plan a haul-out?
For routine hull cleanings and anode swaps, in-water diving is the lower-cost option because there's no lift or yard charge and your boat stays in the water. The trade-off is that the diver can't do bottom paint or hull repairs. A haul-out is the right choice when you need a full survey, new through-hulls, or a long service window; the two services can also be combined if you're already hauling for bottom paint.
